Panic swept through the community as the floodwaters encroached further. Villagers scrambled to protect their belongings, balancing bushels on their heads as they waded through the flooded fields. Most sought refuge on a nearby high mound, which became the only safe haven in the midst of this chaos.From the vantage point on the high mound, the full scale of the flood became evident. The once familiar landscape was now covered by a vast expanse of muddy water, extending all the way up to the distant road bridge and beyond. The river, swollen and turbulent, carried away debris and logs that floated swiftly by. Surrounding trees, with their trunks submerged halfway, appeared like giant umbrellas struggling to stay upright against the onslaught of the floodwaters.As we watched, the floodwaters carried floating horses and cows, adding to the scene of devastation.
